November Newsletter

Dear students,

I have made the decision to cancel the newsletter entirely. Instead, I will be sending engaging emails as a form of communication. As much as I enjoyed the process of bringing it back, it became too much of a workload for me, as hard as it is to admit.

I hope that going forward, emails, Instagram reels and posts will be an effective way of communicating with you all.

Thank you,

Elyssa Arde

Winter Intramurals sign-ups are now open!

Whether you want to stay active, meet new people or have fun, there is a team for you. No experience is needed to join any of these teams. Deadline to show interest is on November 20th, but the sooner you sign up, the better so we can lock in teams as soon as possible.

Please fill in the google form as soon as possible and look out for another email with information to join the IMLeagues rosters next week! If you have any questions please contact commissioners@fmua.ca with “Intramurals” in the subject line.

Wednesday, November 27, 2024 - MacMillan Theatre Advocacy Update

Good evening everyone,

A quick update on the MacMillan Theatre advocacy.

The FMUA, along with CUPE3902 and the Music Graduate Students' Association (MGSA) are united in planning a "day-of-action" to protest the closure of MacMillan Theatre.

CUPE3902 is circulating a petition that is to be signed by Unit 1 and Unit 3 members (TAs and Sessional Instructors). If you, as the undergraduate student, are able to spread the word to your TAs and Sessionals about this petition, that would greatly speed up the process so we can organize the "day-of-action".

The fight is not over yet. We must do anything within our power as students to have our theatre reopen. I would like to repeat myself, please consider sharing this petition with your TAs and sessional lecturers, it would be greatly appreciated on behalf of the FMUA, CUPE3902, and the MGSA.
